Ladies

A lively meeting last month – thank you Liz for hosting – but we missed you Tanya and Clare!

This month we will be discussing ‘One Day’ by David Nichols   As if you need reminding the meeting will be on Tuesday 18th October at Nicola Mac’s (and hopefully getting the nosy-girls tour!)

We have additionally set the next 2 meeting dates … November’s meeting will be on 22nd … December’s meeting will be on 6th . So that will be 4 weeks between October and November’s meeting. This book choice is tba and will by necessity be shorter.  Then we only have 2 weeks between November and December’s meeting. We thought we would paint the town red for December’s meeting and hold it at the Miners’ Arms!!! That nights discussion will be on a Christmas Carol, which is very short so easily readable in the timeframe (hopefully!) and I already have copies from the library for anyone that needs one.

One Day …’I can imagine you at forty,’ she said, a hint of malice in her voice. ‘I can picture it right now.’ He smiled without opening his eyes. ‘Go on then.’ 15th July 1988. Emma and Dexter meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways. So where will they be on this one day next year? And the year after that? And every year that follows? Twenty years, two people, ONE DAY.
