Thanks once again to Pete for hosting a great bonfire night and to everyone else for contributing.

Pounsley Road is a small private road in Dunton Green. It has a row of 1900’s cottages on one side and a small cluster of houses built in the 1960s on the other side. No planning permission for new housing has been granted since these houses were built 60 years ago, despite attempts by landowners.
There are many reasons why planning permission cannot be gained:
There are a couple of plots of land which sometimes appear then re-appear at auction shortly after as buyers discover they cannot develop the land. Recently, one resident gave away a large area of woodland in the road for free.
Prospective buyers should be aware planning permission for new builds is exceedingly unlikely, and should make extensive enquiries with Sevenoaks District Council before considering purchase.
Loving all the homemade Christmas decorations this year – shows what happens when there are no pubs, cinemas, restaurants….etc

The book for this months book club is Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36576608-flowers-for-algernon)

No, it’s not the department of disease control – it’s Colin and his bee keeper mates who successfully removed a swarm of bees which had moved into the road !

Corona Virus didn’t stop the the VE Day celebrations. There was still decorations, tea and scones and plenty of socially distanced chat. Looking forward to a bigger ‘OpenUp’ party at the end of our current ‘war’.

Another Thursday and another evening of clapping – well done residents !!
Stay safe and help each other

I’m sure it will not come as a surprise to anyone to find out that this year’s company AGM is postponed until at least mid-July to be reviewed subject to conditions at the time.

Following a postponement in July due to bad weather, the party did happen albeit in September. This time we were lucky with the weather and although September evenings can get chilly, a fire basket and alcohol ensured warmth.
Thanks to all who attended, helped out and contributed.

The river Darenth is a lot cleaner tonight after the wombles removed an unbelievable number of plastic bags and glass bottles from it.
Afterwards everyone cooled off in the swimming pool and ate pizza and ice cream – thankyou to chief wombles Ian and Ellie.
