For those who knew Barbara Strudwick, the previous resident of No 11, sadly she passed away peacefully on the 12th September aged 98.
Barbara lived in Pounsley Road for over 30 years and was an inspiring woman, her funeral is being held on the 23rd October at St Mary’s in Riverhead.
The celebration of Barbara’s life will take place on the 23rd October at 2.30 St Mary’s Church Riverhead.
The service is a celebration of Barbara’s life and love of music. Barbara’s god daughter, Sally Beamish, herself a musician and composer of note, has called on some of Barbara’s talented friends to play during the service. There is a finale planned as Barbara requested that, to me, sums up Barbara perfectly.
Barbara will be given a litchgate committal , tea will be served in the Church Hall.
With Barbara having lost all of her close family and many dear friends Sally has asked that I urge you attend as dear neighbours no matter how well you knew Barbara you are welcome.

Well done gang !!

Thanks to everyone who came to the street party. It was great to see a large turn out and a fantastic opportunity to welcome the new families to the road.
Thanks to all who helped and contributed too.

Getting ready for the footy !
Thanks to Roger who dug over the remainder of the verge and laid new turf.
Thanks too to Peter who supplied some raspberry plants which have also been put it – pies all round late summer then.
Hi
Just got home at 2pm – bin full of rubble in the middle of the road beyond the bridge that we had to move (in a plastic bin so didn’t look to be deliberate until we tried to lift it – it definitely didn’t blow over) then on the turn by Pounsley House all the white painted logs stacked up around a hoover in the middle of the road which also very dangerous? Has anyone got any info as this is not something that can be ignored, being a deliberate act
